CHIDINMA EKILE RELEASE NEW SINGLES

MTN Project Fame West Africa Season III winner, Chidinma Ekile simply known as Chidinma has released two new singles. According to a press release from her management company, The Goretti Company, the two singles, ‘Jankoliko’ and ‘Carry You Go’ are written and produced by Oscar Heman Ackah.

“Sound Sultan heard ‘Jankoliko’ and fell totally in love with the message, and this superb collaboration was conceived,” the press release reads about the collaboration with the Naija Ninja’s front man.

The Goretti Company also revealed that the singer has begun work on her debut album, “Since she won the competition, she’s been in the studio recording her debut album in line with her contract with MTN/Ultima Studios. She is also working with a crack team of producers and songwriters including Cobhams Asuquo, Tee Y Mix, Jay Martins, Tha Suspect, eLdee the Don, Omolara Ayodele and of course Oscar Heman Ackah,” her management company confirmed.

City peoeple talent hunt first runner-up 2006 ‘ADOL’ a month ago released ‘GHETTO’ a single from his forth coming debut album.The single which is begining to enjoy continuous air-play in all adio stations is fast becoming a club hit. According to Adol, featuring M.I in the song is the bet thing to ever happen to him because he has longed to feature M.I who he regards as Nigeria’s biggest rap artiste.

Omotola is First Nigerian Actress Grace Grammy Red Carpet

Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde pulled one over her rival Nollywood supertar, Genevieve Nnaji over the weekend, when she became the first Nigerian actress to walk the red carpet at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

According to reports, the actress turned singer showed up in a lovely black and white mini dress accompanied by her new management team – the new international management “Bishop Entertainment consult & Bungalow/Universal records.

The actress has starred in nearly 500 home video movies from Nigeria’s Nollywood including the critically acclaimed feature film IJE co-starring fellow Nollywood Queen Genevieve Nnaji which made rounds at many international film festivals last year.

DANCEHALL MUSICIAN “ BABA DEE" GOES INTO POLITICS.

Aside using music to campaign for social change and singing against some of the problems facing the country, Dare Fasasi “BABA DEE”, now realize that the desired for social change would not come if the right people run away from politics.
He has dusted his hat and recently made his intentions of runing for elective post under ACTION CONGRESS OF NIGERIA(CAN), known to the people.
The co-director of TENANT,a home movie that has won different awards within and outside the country, including the African Movie Academy Award(AMAA), hopes to represent the Oriade Local Council Development area of Lagos,in the state house of Assembly this year.
“I am going into politics to make legislations, that would make the youths to be of use to themselves,the society and to further impact on the people”. He disclose this in a recent interview to journalist.

THE ONLY NIGERIAN WHO WON MOBO AWARD 2010.

Last year, did’nt see Nigerians carting the luxury Mobo Award, as its last recipients in recent years had seen the likes of 2face, Dbanj and 9ice.
Well, we sincerely hope that new cats like; Whizkid, Mo cheddah, skales, vector da viper, Terry g, Wande coal and D’prince, will sincerely clinch one or two award at the Mobo Award this year 2011.
Tinme Tempah, real name Patrick okogou, was the only Nigerian to win the award at the just concluded 2010 edition of the Mobo Awards, which took place at Liverpool, United Kingdom.
The awards ceremony which was in celebration of its 15th anniversary saw the London grime Mc and rapper taking home the award for best video for his song “FRISKY” where he featured Labyrinth.
He also took home another award as the best new comer, making him a worthy successor to the current king of UK urban Dizzee rascal.
The 21 year old however missed out on best song and best UK.

Famous controversial pop singer, Adigun Abolore Akande a.k.a “9ICE” played host to friends and colleagues 4 weeks back at a popular island lounge “SWE BAR” onikan, to celebrate his 31st birthday. The party which lasted all night recorded an impressive attendance within the entertainment industry with AY and YAW as the comperes. In a chat with us, he said “I feel great to be 31 and I look forward celebrating more years on earth. Would have celebrated my 31st birthday big, but because I was busy last year I could not and that is why I am celebrating this year. Right now, I have entered a new decade of my career and hope to make the best use of it”.
