GONE TOO SONE......

With utmost respect and regrets, a notable actor and comedian, Ishola Durojaiye, popularly known as Alasari, lost his life in an auto crash which occurred at Onipepeye village along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway on the 18th day of March 2011.

Reliably sources disclose that Mr. Durojaiye left his Abeokuta home in the early wee hours of the morning for a business trip in Lagos alongside four of his staff, but met his untimely death when one of the tyres of his grey colour Jeep burst on motion at about 9am and he lost control of the vehicle.

The impact of the auto crash led to severe injuries on the victim, who was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre{FMC}, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, by motorists travelling along the road. Mr. Durojaiye did not survive from his injuries, while the four other occupants of the car survived.

As the news of the accident spread to his colleagues yesterday, they trooped to the hospital to visit him. They were, however, shocked to learn that the man had died.

It was wailing and gnashing of teeth by sympathizers at the hospital. Similarly, at his home located within the Federal Housing Estate, Ita-Elega, Abeokuta, the atmosphere was in mourning mood, as visitors and his neighbours were seen discussing the calamity which befell the family. As at the time of this report, the corpse had being deposited at the mortuary.

The deceased, who featured in a number of Yoruba home video, survived a similar accident last year along the same road when one of the tyres of a vehicle he was travelling in bursted. He was then returning from the United Kingdom embassy in Lagos where he went to retrieve his passport.

His last public outing was last Sunday when he featured as guest at a monthly radio programme known as ‘Evening with Kasnaty.’
